Cheese Coaster day!

Photo
It's so nice to have sunshine in my kitchen particularly when I'm working on felting. You need to stand there for a while so that the sunshine would help me not to think I'm stuck in somewhere doing hard works and missing out beautiful Autumn day out there.

I like working on my ironing board for cutting and sawing other than ironing, yes, it is not big and wide but that's the point I like about because it stops me to spread all bits and pieces unnecessarily, I'm a pretty much "spreader".... I will finish making 38 cheese coasters today, Hurray!

Well, I need to finish them today.

Photo
I've piled up those pre-felt egg coasters in my kitchen sink and looked at them every day "yap, I will do them..." then a few days passed, a week... a few weeks.... I started feeling they looked at me and asking "are you going to do today?" it's a bit paranoid. Well, today is the day I have to be strong and make them into a beautiful coaster TODAY!

The felted sprout coaster with a mug.

When you have your morning coffee or will be like this. I actually love the long sprout. It can have a nice curvy stork. oh by the way, the wire is inside the sprout so that you can change its shape.

the felted spout coaster on the wall.

it's not the best way to hung on the wall but you will get the idea, don't you ? These hooks are actually for kitchen towels in my kitchen.

Experiments on felted sprout coaster.

I made the left one yesterday. I came up an idea of making a hole so that it can be hung on the hook at the same time it will be a shining sun! Mike my husband suggested to use the bright yellow threads instead of soft yellow (middle one) so I changed it and make a sprout longer so that it can be more obvious when it's hung (right one).

Just finished a felted sprouts coaster.

I have so many ideas to make a felting products. This is one of them. A little sprout's growing in the corner of the simple white coaster. My husband said as usual "weird" instead of saying "cute!". I will make more of this tomorrow. I'm so glad that I could make one tonight.

Putting a tag on the Egg coasters.

I love doing the last process of the production - Tags. Feeling of accomplishment.... wonderful feelings. ;-)

Tomato coasters

I got a question how the red sheet of wool would turn into the tomato coasters.
I will show you. I cut it into a small square then decorate other wools on the top then do the regular wet felt procedure. Finally iron to flat then cut in shape. Done!

Tomato process

Tomato experiment
I am trying to make tomato coasters now. Lots of experiments have been done. Yeah I know some look like a salami ... I need to think about the simple process as well if it takes more time that means I need to increase its price which I don't intend to do.
The experiments will continue.

Making stocks of the Fried Egg Coasters

Because I sold a quite few of the fried egg coasters at the market, I need to make more stocks of them. I am really enjoying the procedure of making them, listening to the podcasts and wondering about those beautiful people who bought my fried egg coasters how they enjoy showing them to their friednds and laughing about it.... These fried egg coasters would at least make people smile. :-)
